Will we really need extra help?

You’ll be spending 5 or more hours a day just feeding, about 2 hours diapering, 4 hours soothing, and 2 hours playing or simply “gazing” at your new baby. That’s 13 hours before a parent has showered or eaten!

Your fourth trimester is exhausting regardless of what your expectations and support systems look like. Doulas are here to bridge the gap. Doulas go beyond practical help to help you ease into your new roles.

In addition to being one of the most beautiful times of your life, the first few weeks with a new baby is one of the most vulnerable and physically trying periods of a person’s life. Our culture tends to fall short in emphasizing rest during this time. Doulas believe that meeting your baby’s needs doesn’t have to mean your needs go unmet. Like a trail guide, a doula holds you through unfamiliar territory, so that you can hold your baby through it.

Not to mention a load of dishes getting done for you gives you just a little more time for magic baby snuggles!

You were never meant to do this alone.
